Stormy Weather

Around 2:30 am, I awoke to such a clatter and what did I see but a dark shadow by the window.  A big head, wider at the top than the bottom.  OMG!  Why aren’t the dogs barking?  The noise was … Continue reading

It’s been a while …

I know it’s been a while since I posted a blog so I thought I’d better post a short note to let everyone know what’s going on.

Ed is doing great!  He has way more energy and continues to feel better each day.  He’s actually been going outside to water plants, which he hasn’t done in months and months.  And his car is using more gas nowadays than it has in a long time.  Yes, he feels very comfortable driving again.  Woo-hoo!  If he doesn’t get out of Argyle once a day, he gets a mini-case of cabin fever.  I, on the other hand, would be satisfied with putzing around Argyle, if I get out of the house at all!

For me, however, I have had terrible allergies this year.  I’m still trying to find an allergy medication that actually works!  A few weeks ago, all that drainage turned into bronchitis.  I’ve been taking my medications but they were done on Thursday and Friday last week.  This weekend, (grrrrr) I started getting the symptoms back again.  Of course, it would happen on the weekend when the doctor’s office is closed.  Yes, I’ve already called the doctor and I go in to see him on Wednesday morning.

I’ve been trying to stay away from people the past two weeks.  I don’t think I was contagious this past week but I sure didn’t want to take any chances.  I’ll be back in circulation soon though, I hope.  Until then, y’all take care and stay as cool as you can.  We sure seem to have gotten August heat early this year, don’t ya think???

Still here … and then not

1:00 pm: Yes, we’re still in the hospital waiting to see the doctor.  Thankfully, I brought Ed his iPad so he could read email (my previous posts, of course!) and his normal web sites.  Add the TV, time for lunch, … Continue reading

People Stories 2

Ed was his usual funny self and totally had the nurses wrapped around his finger.  “He was a good boy,” they told me after surgery.  Of course, at the time, he was lying in the bed, red-faced, eyes closed, shaking … Continue reading

People Stories 1

Now that surgery is over and I have time and energy to sit and reflect on all of the people we have met today, I wanted to relate some of the funny and/or interesting people stories. This morning, when Nurse … Continue reading

Surgery is over …

… and everything went just fine.  In fact, they said Ed was a good boy.  Of course, most of them were women, so I made sure that he didn’t flirt too much! Dr. Naceem told me that they fixed the … Continue reading
