Ed was tired this morning so I took the tour of Durnstein alone. It was a small town but we were entertained with an organ concert in the church, a beautiful blue and white delft building. The pictures show how wonderful the town and church were. One thing I have noticed in all of these towns … they are constantly cleaning the streets and they have no trash blowing around. There is graffiti in the larger cities but none in these small towns. It is wonderful!
We were treated to yet another wine tasting at the local vineyard but, since I’m not much of a wine drinker and Ed was not with me, I passed on this one. I really had no desire to drink three more glasses of wine, especially without Ed!
The afternoon was peaceful onboard, with an apple strudel demonstration, dinner and then the crew displayed their various other talents in a crew talent show. Most of the show was made up of funny skits but there were some standouts. The Hotel Manager Ben sang a few songs and our bartender Michael gave a great show juggling liquor bottles while mixing drinks. The hit of the show was a dining room waiter, who played various sized harmonicas. This is his last year working as a waiter though. He is coming back next year as a paid entertainer on the Vantage cruises. He was really good!
