Dixville Notch, NH

Did you know that New Hampshire is the first state to hold a primary every year? Normally we don’t watch the process unless it’s a presidential election. This vote starts today and the first votes were just cast in Dixville Notch, NH. Honestly, this is the first place to cast votes in a primary in the U.S. every year and it’s been this way for the past 50 years. The poll always opens at midnight EST and, tonight, by 12:08 am, all 9 votes had been cast, counted and posted. It was actually fun to watch. Each voter, all 9 of them, had their own voting booth so there was no waiting. (I sure would like to see that in more locations, wouldn’t you? Wow.)

And the results are in:

Romney = 2 votes

Huntsman = 2 votes

Gingrich = 1 vote

Paul = 1 vote

Obama = 3 votes

  1. If we had a few friends of like mind we could move up there and completely take over the election in 2016…Karen M., don’t apply!
